students' area : allegro

With a very quick and long bow, a bow that travels the full-length, you can create a sound that is very bright and energetic! Careful when you're playing this song not to rush it though, the bows can be quick and bright but the tempo should stay consistent.

A Major Scale

warm up

Quick Quick! Try jumping the bow (without making sound) between the tip and frog: start at the frog, pick up the bow and quickly place it at the tip, then quickly place it at the frog again. When you get to the tip or frog, check on your bow arm and wrist to see that at the tip the wrist is bent down and the bow is straight, at the frog, check to see that the wrist is bent upwards and the bow is still straight.

When practicing the notes 3e 3e 0e 0e use a very fast bow to make the notes zing! Travel as far as you can in the bow and then halt it so that the notes are still separated.

fingering

3e 3e 0e 0e 1e2e3e1e0e 0e (Quick and separated bows)
3a 3a 2a 2a 1a0a1a2a0a-

3e 3e 0e 0e 1e2e3e1e0e 0e (Quick and separated bows)
3a 3a 2a 2a 1a0a1a2a0a-

1e 1e 0e 0a 1e 1e 0e 0a (This section has quick but fuller bows, don't separate too much)
1e 2e 3e 1e 0e 2a 1a- (This line slows down...gradually. Then stops, waits for a bit....)

3e 3e 0e 0e 1e2e3e1e0e 0e (Then back to quick and separated bows)
3a 3a 2a 2a 1a0a1a2a0a-

Notice that 1st, 2nd and 4th phrases are exactly the same.
